Hello All,

It is nice to be writing back again and to be in touch with you all .

I read a very nice article and couldn’t help myself from not sharing it with you as to how the world will look like in the year 2020. This digital age and the new generation who is so much used to digital products starting from iPods ,  iPads,  iTunes and iPhones  what will the world look like.

The Generation C here refers to connected, communicating, content-centric, computerised, community-oriented, always clicking generation. As a rule, they were born after 1990 and lived their adolescent years after 2000. In the developed world, Generation C encompasses everyone in this age group; in the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India, and China), they are primarily urban and suburban. By 2020, they will make up 40 per cent of the population in the US, Europe, and the BRIC countries, and 10 per cent of the rest of the world — and by then, they will constitute the largest single cohort of consumers worldwide.

The new young generation would have their primary digital device (PDD) help them from anywhere in US to Australia to Europe to Asia where in they can travel, study, work anywhere in the world and be in touch with their family, friends including the actual and the virtual ones  all along. It would be something like having virtual professional meetings to virtual ceremonies to virtual personal meetings with family and friends, and all this at their tip, only sitting where they are, in the comfort of home/office or anywhere in the world.

How would the business and workplace look like for this generation where in they can scan through different products at different stores across the world and order something right there and then. The traditional ways to market and sell and consumerism and satisfaction will be so much different from old patterns and habbits. Companies would be more and more virtual bringing the whole world closer to one another making migration or working easier and comfortable across the world.

There would be so many changes as simple as people’s personal information which would be so easily available and accessible, as more and more people would interact virtually, through social networks and other mediums that they shall prioritize comfort and ease over privacy.

There will be all fields starting from health to education to telecommunication to business to corporate culture that would change leading more and more of the generation to spend time digitally. Even as age catches up more and more retired people will be involved more and more with this virtual world to feel the need to be connected.

So many aspects of life which are changing today will become the norm across the world.

Though all this is interesting and worrying too as it might bring in its own related issues with it.

Share your thoughts and experiences.

Be well

As much as it brings hope, happiness to be close to your roots to the people you know, friends and family it brings in loads of anxieties with it. At least that is what happened when I was repatriating to my home country. I asked myself all the questions like how is it going to be, what are the things I would do that I couldn’t being away from my home country and the answers were awesome and happy and brought content.

The situation changed as I arrived because the environment was exactly as I had left 10 years back when I lived there but what had changed was ME. In all these 10 years I picked up loads of cultures,  friendships, style of living, food habits and most of all my world had grown beyond the boundaries of culture, thus even though I was in my home country I felt like a foreigner. It was difficult to explain what I was going through to people out there as they expected me to be same as before which was indeed not possible.

Thus I had to start all over again trying to adjust myself  and re-invent myself and finding different ways to  respond to situations and people.

What are the things and situations that you went through when you Repatriated ?

How different was it, share your experiences.

Third Culture Life

Hello All,

I have been reading about the Third culture kids growing in a culture other than those of their parents and third culture adults, when these kids grow up to the adults. it is very interesting and eye-opening and a big relief to know that there are others too who are going through the same situations as us.

In my situation we are cross cultural Adults who have been moving to different cultures for past 10 years learning, exploring, growing and adjusting with new environments, people, friends, cultures, food and also experiencing the loss of good friends with the move. Thus can so very relate to others who are in the same situation.

Some issues that all of us face are :

  1. lBelonging everywhere and nowhere. The elusive concept of “Where is home?”
  2. Difficulty with commitment to people, places, schools, or school systems as these constantly change.
  3. Uncertain cultural identity.
  4. Problems with decision-making.
  5. Loss of relationships, community, school is a loss of their world.
  6. Feeling different from others, difficult in forming peer relationships; occurs more often at university level or when returning to “passport” country, where they are misunderstood by their peers.
  7. Rootlessness and restlessness. The frequent need to change countries and homes.
  8. Feeling “Out of Control” and Powerless. A feeling that they have no control over events and that these are often taken out of their hands anyway by the inevitability of the move.
  9. A crisis of identity – “Who am I?”

If you feel connected with all the above then time to know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE !!!

PS : Above excerpt from tckid.com

Hi There,

As I have been moving across the globe for couple of years and devoting my time to family and settlement after relocation I discovered that in the process I lost the passion and goal of my own  life. When , Where and How I lost it are the questions I ponder now.

I have no answer but what I do know now is that I lost it. It was the day I asked myself as to who I am or what is it that I want to do in life I realised I had no clue, all I was doing was running around life trying to do everything for everybody. I had been doing things for my growth as I am a strong believer of Life Learner but never sat down to think my passion of life. The constant change in my life never gave me time to concentrate as to what I would like to achieve of my life.  It is when I acknowledged this as a fact of my life everything changed.

I started doing voluntary work , as I could not work full-time or even part-time as life was ever-changing with the moves, and in the process made some very good friends. Started to look beyond and started searching my passion to establish who I was and after working as Parent Toddler Group Leader for 10 months, in Basel Switzerland, it was time to move again. I felt all that I had done was in vain as the new place would bring new language, people, friends and environment and I had to start all over again. So I decided to do something to help people who are going through same situations and share my experience and expertise in the field of relocation which brings with it a number of situations and issues.  Also to work with those who have lost purpose in life or who want to restart their lives and reinvent them as I have done all this myself.

So here I am to partner with you in your journey of life through my blogs and my work as a Coach.
